A Salute to Vienna Previous Broadcasts

KQED Plus: Mon, Aug 1, 2016 -- 12:00 AM

This lavish music and dance gala concert was recorded live at the historic Konzerthaus in Vienna, Austria in April 2013. Hosted by world-famous mezzo soprano Frederica von Stade (Metropolitan Opera), and Academy Award-winning actor and Viennese-native Maximilian Schell (Judgment at Nuremberg), this special celebrates the musical heritage of Vienna. The concert presents the most-popular excerpts from well-known operettas like "The Merry Widow", "Land of Smiles", "Die Fledermaus", and many others, performed by an international cast of superstars.
