Dental Inequality
Mary Otto traveled around the country to examine the state of dental care in rural America. 49 million Americans live in places where there are not enough dentists. In those areas, its often hard to get an appointment even if you have private insurance. Its even harder for people on Medicaid, as fewer than half of all dentists accept Medicaid patients. The result, Otto says, is a public health crisis.
