Next Tuesday, September 17, I'll be moderating a panel organized by MIT-Stanford Venture Lab (VLAB), the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the MIT Enterprise Forum. Among the many topics covered, we'll be discussing how ed-tech entrepreneurs and businesses can best serve educators as Common Core State Standards are rolled out.

On the panel, will be representatives from MasteryConnect, Illuminate Education, Pearson North America, and Imagine K-12.

For those in the Bay Area interested in the topics -- especially teachers -- we would love to see you there!


Based on research by GSV Asset Management and Candlestick Research, the 2013 US education industry at large is nearly $1.5 trillion, representing 10% of America's GDP, the largest category after healthcare. Education technology spending alone is predicted to hit $60 billion by 2018.
