He rushes out of the Steam Works before his whistle is fixed properly and it starts to make a strange sound. Thomas collects ducks, Katy the sheep dog and Farmer McColl's prize cow to take them to the fair. Thomas' whistle is so loud that all of the animals run away! Thomas arrives at the fair to find out that the animals are gone and there is no one at the fair. Once Thomas goes back to the Steam Works to get his whistle fixed, he tells everybody about the animal show. Thomas is asked to use his whistle to declare that 'the animal show is now open! ' Up, Up and Away - Thomas and Percy are given the special of delivering a giant balloon that Mr. Bubbles has blown up for his Big Balloon Show. Thomas and Percy decide to take the coast track, but the wind whips the balloon into the sky. Thomas and Percy ask Mr. Bubbles to blow up another giant balloon and they take it through a tunnel but it gets stuck! Thomas and Percy again get another giant balloon and they take a fast track and as Gordon rushes past the big balloon bounces off the flatbed and bursts.     Thomas & Friends [#809H] Special Times Surprise Surprise - It's the Winter Holidays on Sodor and Thomas is excited because that means it is party time! However Thomas' friends need help. Percy has a cracked coupling rod, Edward's pistons are popping and Stanley has a faulty firebox. Thomas brings them all to the Steam Works to be fixed. Victor is so busy that he won't be able to fix all the engines in time for the party, so Thomas decides to bring the party to the Steam Works but doesn't tell Victor. Thomas asks Rocky to deliver the Christmas tree but Rocky drops it in front of Kevin and causes chaos. Thomas realizes he should have told Victor about the party. Thomas tells Victor about the party and soon all the engines help to get ready. The star is fixed on the tree and the engines have a great party. Tree Trouble - It's the winter holidays and Dowager Hatt, declares a competition to see who can find the tallest and grandest Christmas tree on Sodor. It's the Diesels versus the Steamies as Thomas leads the chase to find the best tree. Thomas and the Diesels race to Misty Island and ask the Logging Locos where they can find the best tree. When they found the perfect trees and began the racing fast back to Sodor, the trees fall off their flatbeds. and are destroyed. The engines go back to the Diesel Works without their trees and Thomas tells Dowager Hatt the news. Thomas decides to go back to Misty Island, chooses a perfect tree and gives it to the Diesels for their Diesel Works. The tree is decorated and looks perfect. When they do finally ripen, Caillou realizes good (and delicious!) things are worth waiting for. Educational Objective: Realizing good things are worth waiting for. Wait to Skate: Daddy is building an ice rink in the backyard, only Caillou can't wait to skate. When his impatience almost ruins the rink, Caillou realizes that things take time...and good things are worth waiting for. Educational Objective: The importance of having patience. Caillou's Hiccups: A spaghetti dinner (and a lot of giggling) result in Caillou getting the hiccups. Daddy thinks he knows how to cure them, and together, they embark on a series of hiccup-curing trials. But none of them see to work! Mommy insists the hiccups will go away on their own - as long as Caillou doesn't make a big deal of them... and she's right! And now the kids have to learn how to take care of it. That means investigating what the praying mantis needs to eat, drink, and what kind of home it needs.     Bob the Builder [#916] A Race Against Time Stranded: Bob and the team are repairing the Fixham Lighthouse after it was damaged in a storm. Lofty helps remove and replace the lamp and Scoops digs up the old power cable from the lighthouse to the shore. The lamp lights just before another storm arrives and, in Lofty's excitement, he accidentally yanks out the new cable and cuts the power. To finish the job, the Machines need the help of Wendy and Bob, who are stranded in the lighthouse. The Machines quickly assist Curtis in repairing his boat and they rescue Bob and Wendy before the storm becomes too rough. The cable is reattached and power to the lighthouse is restored. Learning Goals: To learn about storms and storm safety To explore the purpose of lighthouses. To understand how and when to ask for help. End of the Line; The train is almost ready to take to the tracks on Spring City's new monorail system! Bob and the team are completing one last station before the train's first journey. With Bob test-driving the route, Leo is left to direct the Machines and juggle three jobs at once. Disaster ensues on the site when the roof crashes into the track and bends it out of shape just as Bob is on his way to the station by train. Leo uses the signal box phone to call Bob, urging him to brake. Bob safely stops the train and the team work together to fix the track and finish the job in time for the train's first official journey. Learning Goals: To introduce the concept that technology can have good and bad consequences. To explore the use of magnets for motion.     • Fremont Peak Tower Maintenance

      *UPDATE: The tower crew will work the Fremont peak tower as of 11am, Thursday, Nov 30th. We will need to lower power on KQET, Channel 25, to 25% at 10:30am through 4-5pm. Thank you for your patience!

    • Scheduled Maintenance 8/21-8/25

      Next week, Sutro Tower will be switching most stations to their auxiliary antennas. KQED TV will be at half power on the lower auxiliary antenna, this will affect some of our Over The Air viewers. Maintenance is scheduled on August 21-25 from 9am through 4pm daily. Thank you for your patience!

    • 2/22/17: Fremont Peak tower transmissions, including KQET DT25

      (DT25.1 through 25.3) Recent storms have taken out dozens of trees on Fremont Peak, which in turn have taken down power lines leading to the transmission tower located on the peak.
