New rules and health guidelines are making the 60-game season unlike any other, for fans and players alike. Stadiums across the country are closed to the public to help lower the spread of the coronavirus. Some MLB teams, including the Oakland A’s, made cardboard cutouts of loyal fans to place in the stands, since spectators — for now, at least — are barred from attending games. He started at the top, where a row of reporters and broadcasters look down onto the ice. \u003ca href=\"https://twitter.com/DanRusanowsky?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dan Rusanowsky\u003c/a> has been doing the radio play-by-play for the Sharks since the team's first game in 1991. Two teams with tiny differences were one or two mistakes away from the Western Conference finals or summertime.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Jonathan Quick hardly ever makes mistakes in the postseason, and that's the biggest reason Los Angeles' Stanley Cup title defense is still rolling.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Justin Williams scored two goals in the second period, Quick made 25 saves in his latest dominant playoff performance and the Kings advanced with a 2-1 victory over San Jose in Game 7 on Tuesday night.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Seven games over 15 days only served to underline the similarities between these Pacific Division powers, but the indomitable goalie in the Kings' net wouldn't allow the Sharks to equalize in the final minutes. The defending champs finished off this agonizingly even series with their 14th consecutive home victory over the past two months, including seven straight in the postseason. \u003c!--more-->\"Jonathan Quick is just a fantastic goalie,\" Sharks captain Joe Thornton said.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Quick and his teammates barely held off the Sharks in the frantic final minutes after Dan Boyle's goal early in the third. We're fortunate to move forward.\"\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Kings will face Chicago or Detroit when they attempt to reach the Stanley Cup finals for the third time. The Blackhawks will host the Red Wings in Game 7 on Wednesday night.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Quick couldn't do it all by himself, and he got help from a familiar big-game source: Williams scored on a power-play tap-in and a one-timer, putting the Kings on top to stay. (AP) — Although Dustin Brown will always remember raising the Stanley Cup above his head last year, he also remembers the pain of a first-round playoff loss to San Jose one year before the Los Angeles Kings became champions.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>So even though the Los Angeles captain is playing in his first Game 7 in the Stanley Cup playoffs on Tuesday night, he's acutely aware of the stakes when the Kings host the Sharks in the grand finale to a grueling all-California series.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>[ad fullwidth]\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>\"You don't know what you're playing for until you've won it,\" Brown said Monday after the Kings returned from a 2-1 loss in Game 6.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>\"So my perspective on the playoffs this year has been completely different from my perspectives the previous years, because I don't think I fully understood what exactly I was playing for until we put ourselves over the top. Obviously, emotions are going to be running high. Family, friends, everyone — all eyes are on it. The team that can control (emotions) the most, and it sounds easier than it is, usually that's the team that has success.\"\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Kings have home-ice advantage in a playoff series for the first time in 21 years against the Sharks, who have made the playoffs 14 times in the past 15 seasons.
