Stacee Etcheber, a Novato hairdresser whose husband is a San Francisco police officer, was among the 59 people killed in the Las Vegas shooting Sunday night, according to her brother-in-law.

"Please pray for our family during this difficult time," Al Etcheber wrote on his Facebook page early Tuesday. "She leaves behind two adoring beautiful children and an amazing husband. Thank you to everyone for all the support in this these past few days. We will dearly miss you. ..."

Etcheber confirmed the contents of the post in a text message.

Stacee Etcheber and her husband, San Francisco police Officer Vinnie Etcheber, were among the estimated 22,000 attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival concert Sunday night when a gunman opened fire from the upper floors of a nearby hotel.

After shots rang out, Vinnie Etcheber began helping the injured, Al Etcheber said.

When there was a lull in the gunfire, Officer Etcheber told his wife to run. And then there was a "second barrage," his brother said.

Vinnie Etcheber spent much of Monday monitoring lists of the injured released by hospitals. He was in touch with the FBI and Las Vegas police, according to the San Francisco Police Officers Association.

Stacee Etcheber did not have a cellphone with her at the concert, according to her brother-in-law. She had given her identification to her husband when the concert began.

On Monday afternoon a group of San Francisco POA members went to Las Vegas to be with Vinnie Etcheber, according to a statement from the union.
