Bail Reform Gets Backing of Governor, Chief Justice, but is Delayed to 2018

All year, we’ve been talking about efforts to reform money bail in California. State lawmakers have been debating the issue, but it now looks like a final vote on the issue won’t come until next year, after an agreement between supporters of change, the governor and the chief justice to work together on legislation in the coming months.
