Primary Election Preview
Anyone with a TV is getting bombarded with campaign ads, especially by Republican gubernatorial candidates Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner. For Democrats, Election Day is something of a foregone conclusion, at least at the top of the ballot. Jerry Brown and Barbara Boxer are sure to be nominated for governor and the U.S. Senate, so most of the energy in this primary has been on the Republican side.

Dems and GOP United Against Prop. 14
There's one issue on Tuesday's ballot the Republican and Democratic parties can agree on: they both hate Proposition 14. The measure would re-work primary elections in California, and some say the real winners if Prop. 14 passes would be independent voters, those not registered with any party.

High School Fish and Farm Program
California's budget mess is forcing schools to cut teachers and classes, but some school districts are getting creative by finding new ways to bring in revenue and save programs. In Mendocino County, one high school has turned to farming to raise money and feed the community.

The Knuckleball Princess
The biggest story in major league baseball this week was the blown call by an umpire in Detroit. But there was another major baseball story in Chico, which hosted the American debut of an 18 year old pitcher from Japan. She's one of just a few women who've ever played professionally.
