'Homeowner Bill of Rights' Stalls in Assembly
The future of the so-called California Homeowner Bill of Rights is a little less clear this morning. The state Assembly's Banking and Finance Committee pulled two bills that are part of that package just minutes before Attorney General Kamala Harris was scheduled to speak yesterday. The legislation would protect homeowners facing foreclosure.
Midnight Post Office Run a Thing of the Past
As more taxpayers file their returns online, fewer post offices are having the traditional last-minute curbside service. Only 22 post offices in California will have extended hours, and not all of those will stay open until midnight.

An estimated 7 million teenagers nationwide are involved in high school sports. But there are no universal requirements for medical personnel or athletic trainers at games and practices. A new program in San Diego is trying to train student athletes to attend to sports injuries themselves.
