State Health Exchange Announces Small Business Premiums
Covered California, the new state government health insurance exchange created for the rollout of Obamacare, has released a portfolio of plans and premiums for small businesses. Companies with 50 employees or fewer don't have to buy plans under the federal health law, but if they do, they'll be available in all parts of the state as of January. John Arensmeyer of the nonprofit Small Business Majority says the options look a lot better for small businesses than they have in years.

BART Workers Give Notice They May Strike Again
Unless contract negotiations succeed over the weekend, Bay Area Rapid Transit workers have given formal notice they may strike again in time for the Monday morning commute. Protesters rallied in Oakland Thursday night in support of workers.

In recent years, the Inland Empire has become a major center for logistics, helping to process the flow of goods from the ports of L.A. and Long Beach to the rest of California and the country. And there's been political blowback against one particularly massive proposal pending in Moreno Valley.
