UC Regents Already Considering Future Tuition Increases
Despite promises there would be no more tuition hikes for University of California students for awhile, that's exactly what the UC Board of Regents is discussing this week as they meet in San Francisco. UC President Janet Napolitano said the tuition freeze will remain in effect for the 2014-15 academic year.
UC Survey Finds Some Minorities Feel Uncomfortable on Campus
The University of California has released the results of a new campus climate survey of more than 100,000 students, faculty and staff. The vast majority said they feel comfortable on campus. But certain groups felt less-so, including people with disabilities, undocumented immigrants and people of races other than white or Asian.
Torlakson Unveils Plan to Ease Drought's Impact on Schools

Most folks hope to be surrounded by family and friends when we die. But in prison, many people die alone. As part of our first-person health series "Vital Signs," we hear from a retired chaplain, Lorie Adoff. She helped launch a project called Supportive Care Services at California Men?s Colony, a prison in San Luis Obispo. The program trains inmates serving life sentences to sit with fellow inmates as they pass.
