Back in the 1960s, UC Berkeley students launched the independent living movement and forced doors open for people with physical disabilities. Over the years, universities in California have become a lot more accommodating to scholars of all stripes, as laws and attitudes have changed dramatically. These days, schools are seeing and accommodating more students with cognitive conditions.
