The University of California's board of regents has voted unanimously to support the budget plan agreed upon by Gov. Jerry Brown and UC President Janet Napolitano. The state is giving the UC an additional $486 million over the next three years. In return, in-state tuition will be frozen for the next two years. However, out-of-state tuition will go up. The deal also requires the UC to reform its pension plan. The final approval for the deal still has to come from lawmakers in Sacramento.
