L.A. County OKs Facial Recognition Data Collection Tool

Los Angeles County has given the green light to a new data collection tool for their sheriff's deputies' mobile facial recognition software. If you're arrested, deputies will be able to take your picture and upload it into an enormous database. While the L.A. County sheriff is an early adopter of this kind of biometric technology, it's also used in San Diego County and increasingly across the country. We talk with Ali Winston who has been reporting on this issue for "Reveal" from the Center for Investigative Reporting.
