The Rocky Fire started on Wednesday, but tripled in size over the weekend to about 84 square miles. It's burning southeast of the town of Clearlake, about 110 miles north of the Bay Area. The Rocky Fire is only 5 percent contained, and has so far destroyed 24 homes and is threatening thousands more. Gov. Jerry Brown declared a "state of emergency" on Friday to release resources to fight the 21 major fires in the state right now.
