A new bill would bar law enforcement from searching your phone, computer or tablet without a warrant. The bill passed the Assembly on Tuesday with bipartisan support, and got the backing of tech companies like Google, Twitter and Facebook. The state Senate needs to give final approval to amendments, but the bill's biggest challenge could come from Gov. Jerry Brown, who has vetoed similar bills in the past.
