California To Spend Billions to Tackle Homelessness
A $2 billion plan to aid tens of thousands of homeless people struggling with mental illness in California has got the go ahead from Democrats and Republicans in Sacramento. The State Senate approved the measure yesterday. Now it's off to the Assembly and a vote expected later this week.
Oakland Considers Fining Misleading Abortion Advertising
There's an effort in the city of Oakland to stop anti-abortion pregnancy counseling centers from engaging in false advertising. A proposed ordinance would allow the city to go after facilities that mislead people into thinking they offer abortion services, when in fact they do not.
