Close to two-thirds of community college teachers in California are adjuncts or part-timers, and many of them have little job security. But this week, two companion bills are headed to Gov. Brown's desk that advocates say could improve conditions. If signed into law, AB 1690 and SB 1379 would be the first of their kind in the nation.
