Yesterday we told you about a practice called direct file. That's when a district attorney, not a judge, decides if a minor as young as 14 will go to adult court. Whether to return that decision to a judge is part of Proposition 57. Today we look at how it's used in one county: San Francisco. Despite its significant size, the county rarely uses direct file.
