U.S. District Judge William Alsup ordered the PG&E board of directors to take a tour of Paradise, saying, “Maybe we’ll all take a bus ride in July.”
In the past Alsup had been quite pointed in his criticism of the beleaguered utility, so PG&E executives seemed to breathe a sigh of relief at the probation sentence.
Even though I’m sure it will be rightfully impactful for the PG&E board to face survivors of the tragic Camp Fire, a bus ride to Paradise is a long way from ordering the utility to dramatically expand their safety and maintenance programs.
