PG&E took a beating in court Wednesday, with U.S. District Judge William Alsup saying, "To my mind, there's a very clear-cut pattern here: that PG&E is starting these fires."

The judge was even tougher than that on the utility company, saying, "What do we do? Does the judge just turn a blind eye and say, 'PG&E, continue your business as usual. Kill more people by starting more fires.' "

Despite the tough talk, Judge Alsup did not yet issue an order that would force PG&E to comply with his proposed wildfire plan.
