California Gets Exemption from Federal ID Law

California has been granted another reprieve from having to comply with a federal ID law. This is the third extension California has gotten to get into compliance with the REAL ID Act, a federal law created in response to 9-11. It requires states to more closely scrutinize the backgrounds of people before they get driver licenses and ID cards.
