Children with Mental Illness Lack Access to Emergency Beds
Four out of five counties in California don't have a single hospital bed for children in a psychiatric emergency. Today we continue our series on acute mental health care. The California Report's Elaine Korry says the few beds that do exist, mostly in the Bay Area and L.A. Basin, are always full, and that spells desperation for anyone caring for a troubled child.
