Update, 12 p.m.: BART originally said that the person run over by a train was a child but now says she was an adult. Witnesses report the woman jumped in front of the train, according to Bay City News.

Major delays remain on service to Fremont and Dublin-Pleasanton.

There is a major delay on BART's Fremont line due to the death of a child who was struck and killed by a train at the San Leandro station. BART has "truncated service" between Fruitvale and Bay Fair stations, and alternate transportation is recommended. The age and gender of the child has not been released. BART is trying to put buses in service between Fruitvale and Bay Fair, the Bay Area News Group reports.

The Coliseum station is now open.
