Funding Domestic Violence Shelters

In July, Governor Schwarzenegger eliminated $20 million of state funding for domestic violence shelters as a result of California’s budget crisis. Since then, six shelters have closed statewide and others are offering more limited services. We look at the impact of budget cuts on victims of domestic abuse, and we discuss whether shelters will manage to stay open despite the cuts.
