Myanmar pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been sentenced to an additional 18 months of house arrest. Having already spent 14 of the last 20 years in detention, the recent extension will effectively prevent her from participating in next year’s election cycle. We discuss Aung San Suu Kyi and the conditions in Myanmar, also known as Burma.
