 (Brian Douglas/Sony Pictures Classics)

Creating a biopic about the life of trumpeter Miles Davis is no easy feat. Davis was a jazz pioneer who pushed the limits of the genre. He also lived a perilous, fast-paced life that was matched only by the intensity of his music. In his new movie, “Miles Ahead,” Don Cheadle focuses on a five-year lull in Davis’ career. In addition to starring in the film, Cheadle also wrote, directed and produced it. Cheadle joins us to talk about the process of becoming Miles Davis.

Guests:

Don Cheadle, actor; writer, producer, director of "Miles Ahead"; nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for "Hotel Rwanda"
