(Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals)

In 2014, musician Ben Harper decided he couldn’t stay silent any longer on the issue of police killing unarmed Black men. He wrote a single, “Call It What It Is,” that expressed outrage over institutional racism and commemorated the lives of Trayvon Martin, Ezell Ford and Michael Brown. That track became the foundation for an entire album that Harper recorded with his band, The Innocent Criminals, marking their first collaboration in almost a decade. Harper joins us for an interview and live performance.
