 (Autumn de Wilde)

Carrie Brownstein burst onto the punk rock scene in the ’90s as the guitarist for Sleater-Kinney. She later reviewed music for NPR and currently stars in the TV show, “Portlandia,” which lovingly mocks hipster culture. Brownstein joins us to talk about her memoir, “Hunger Makes Me A Modern Girl,” a reflection on her childhood in Seattle and her struggle to make it as a musician.

Guests:

Carrie Brownstein, author of "Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl"; guitarist in Sleater-Kinney; co-star of "Portlandia"
