San Francisco’s Chinatown Community Development Center is a model for community organizing. Gordon Chin was executive director from the center’s creation in 1977 until 2011. Chin writes about his years as an activist and his time with the Chinatown CDC in a book that’s equal parts memoir and how-to guide to political organizing. We’ll talk to Chin about “Building Community, Chinatown Style” and learn about the residents, religious figures, and business leaders who created the political powerhouse that is today’s Chinatown.

Guests:

Gordon Chin, author of "Building Community, Chinatown Style," former director of San Francisco's Chinatown Community Development Center
