Getting a colonoscopy may not be at the top of most people’s wish lists, but the routine procedure could help catch colon cancer in the early stages. According to KQED?s PriceCheck, a crowd-sourced reporting project, the price of a colonoscopy in the Bay Area ranges from $1,000 to $5000. Although the Affordable Care Act mandates that recommended preventative procedures be covered at no cost to the patient, some consumers may still be getting billed.
