Noteworthy New Laws in 2015

Hundreds of new California laws will take effect in the New Year, and today we take a look at a few that are noteworthy. Three new bills dealing with water are set to bring the state’s groundwater in a more sustainable direction. Additionally, a first-of-its-kind statewide ban on plastic bags will go into effect in July, unless stymied by a May referendum. And new “selfie” protections aim to discourage people from posting someone else’s naked photos without their consent.
