On September 15, Fantasy Studios, an iconic location in Bay Area music and film history, will close. The Berkeley studio made its name after being sold to producer and filmmaker Saul Zaentz and signing Creedence Clearwater Revival. The studio also recorded influential tracks by artists ranging from Dave Brubeck to Green Day, while Fantasy’s film unit was involved in the production of movies like “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” “Amadeus” and “The English Patient.” We’ll discuss Fantasy Studio’s lasting influence and we’d like to hear from you — do you have a story involving Fantasy Studios? Please share it with us.

Guests:

Bill Belmont, music industry consultant; former VP of International Operations, Fantasy Records

Connie Field, director, Clarity Films; her documentaries include "The Life and Times of Rosie the Riveter" and "The Whistleblower of My Lai"

Gabe Meline, senior editor, KQED Arts
