A native San Franciscan, Jennifer Kroot studied film at San Francisco State University and at the San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI), and currently teaches film at SFAI. In addition to It Came from Kuchar, she wrote, directed, and produced the sci-fi, feminist-camp, feature satire Sirens of the 23rd Century, which takes place in the dystopic future after cosmetics and modeling have been outlawed. Sirens of the 23rd Century has been screened worldwide and has won Best Narrative Film at New Orleans LGBT Film Festival and Best Director at the Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre Film Festival. Kroot is currently directing a documentary about actor and activist George Takei.
