Wednesday, Jul 17 at 6 p.m. @ KQED | Crafting an Interview Podcast with Sophie Bearman
Life in Seven Songs is the flagship podcast of The San Francisco Standard, a news organization that covers local news and information in the San Francisco Bay Area. In this interview podcast, host Sophie Bearman engages amazing people in intimate discussions about their lives by posing the question: “If you had to pick seven songs to tell your life story, what would you choose?”
In this workshop, Sophie shares insights on how to make a high-quality, highly-edited interview podcast. What’s the process for editing two-hour-long interviews into a half-hour episode with a strong story arc? How does the seven-song format support the interview process? In this session, you will hear audio clips from the show and behind-the-scenes stories on how the show is put together.
