"content": "\u003cp>One Goh — an Alameda man serving seven consecutive life sentences for each of the \u003ca href=\"https://www.kqed.org/news/61036/shooting-at-east-oakland-school-several-injured\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">seven people he fatally shot\u003c/a> at a small Oakland vocational college in April 2012 — has died in prison.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said Wednesday that the 50-year-old Goh died at California State Prison-Sacramento on March 20.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>CDCR spokeswoman Vicky Waters said a cause of death hasn't been determined. She did not respond to requests for more details.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Goh was also convicted of injuring three people during the shooting at the Christian-affiliated Oikos University. Police arrested One Goh, a Korean national, and said he quickly confessed to the crime.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Goh has pleaded not guilty, and was found incompetent to stand trial. A judge ordered him to be treated at Napa State Hospital with the goal of restoring him to sanity so he can stand trial,\u003ca href=\"http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2013/01/28/oakland-school-massacre-suspect-to-be-treated-at-napa-state-hospital/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> CBSlocal.com \u003c/a>reported.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Before that day, few people in Oakland — let alone the rest of the world — knew about Oikos, a Bible, nursing and music school whose student body has a high quotient of immigrants. But the seminary and school of music at the school are predominantly Korean, according to Yoonsil Kae, who teaches music at a sister school in Mountain View.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Kae and fellow members of the San Francisco Korean Master Chorale have been planning a concert on the one-year anniversary of the shooting ever since they heard about it, she said.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>“We are so sorry for the school and the victims,” she said.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The 45-member chorale will \u003ca href=\"http://www.oikosuniversity.org/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">perform\u003c/a> Mozart’s Requiem at 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 114 Montecito Ave., Oakland. The concert will feature four soloists and will be accompanied by six stringed instruments and an organ. The head of the Korean Community Center of the East Bay gave me a lecture on how the subprime-mortgage crisis crippled the Korean community, and she implied that the problem with Korean rage lay in socioeconomic factors. I was politely escorted out of two separate Korean churches after I asked some members of the congregations if they had any concerns about the perceptions of the larger public. Police arrested One Goh, a Korean national, and said he quickly confessed to the crime.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Goh has pleaded not guilty, and was found incompetent to stand trial. A judge ordered him to be treated at Napa State Hospital with the goal of restoring him to sanity so he can stand trial,\u003ca href=\"http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2013/01/28/oakland-school-massacre-suspect-to-be-treated-at-napa-state-hospital/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> CBSlocal.com \u003c/a>reported.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Before that day, few people in Oakland — let alone the rest of the world — knew about Oikos, a Bible, nursing and music school whose student body has a high quotient of immigrants. But the seminary and school of music at the school are predominantly Korean, according to Yoonsil Kae, who teaches music at a sister school in Mountain View.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Kae and fellow members of the San Francisco Korean Master Chorale have been planning a concert on the one-year anniversary of the shooting ever since they heard about it, she said.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>“We are so sorry for the school and the victims,” she said.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The 45-member chorale will \u003ca href=\"http://www.oikosuniversity.org/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">perform\u003c/a> Mozart’s Requiem at 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 114 Montecito Ave., Oakland. The concert will feature four soloists and will be accompanied by six stringed instruments and an organ. I was politely escorted out of two separate Korean churches after I asked some members of the congregations if they had any concerns about the perceptions of the larger public. At 10:33 a.m. Oakland police received a 911 call about a woman lying on the ground dying. A patrol unit was dispatched at 10:44 a.m. as additional 911 calls came in. Five people died at the scene, and two later died at a local hospital.
