Farmers often lament that consumers have become detached from their food, that we don't understand what it takes to get strawberries or milk or meat to the market. At Pie Ranch, an educational farm south of San Francisco, inner city kids are learning what it takes to grow and harvest the ingredients for pie. The farm also builds community through hard work, good food and music.
