Federal regulators are holding a meeting Wednesday in San Luis Obispo to hear from people who live next to California's last remaining nuclear power plant. Perched on an ocean bluff just north of Pismo Beach, Diablo Canyon started operating in 1985. It supplied nearly 6 percent of the state's electricity last year. Now the plant's license is up for renewal. The meeting is the first step in a lengthy process that could take years.
