Earlier this month, 32-year-old Kate Steinle was shot and killed while walking with her father along San Francisco's Pier 14. The man charged with her murder, Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, is a convicted felon and undocumented immigrant who had previously been deported from the U.S. five times. Steinle's death has reignited debate over the city's sanctuary policies, which limit local law enforcement cooperation with federal immigration enforcement efforts. Supervisor Mark Farrell speaks with Joshua Johnson about the legislation he's promoting to amend the city's sanctuary law.
