Protests Persist
Protests continued this week over the killings of unarmed black men by white police officers. Demonstrations swept through several Bay Area cities. Many were peaceful, but there were also incidents of vandalism. In Berkeley, Interstate 80 was shut down for an hour. On Wednesday, an incident involving an undercover police officer sparked additional controversy. What do protesters hope to accomplish?

Rain Returns
The Bay Area is still recovering from Thursday's storm, which dumped from 2 to 6 inches of rainfall on the region. For many cities, it was the wettest day in almost 20 years. The severe weather flooded highways, streets and homes, and spurred several school districts to close. Do the heavy rains spell any relief for California's severe three-year drought?

Bay Area Sports Hit a High Point
It's a great time to be a Bay Area sports lover, and fans have much to celebrate. Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner was named Sportsman of the Year by Sports Illustrated this week. The Warriors are on an amazing winning streak. And to the relief of many, the basketball team decided to redo the design for its proposed new stadium, which was ridiculed for looking like a toilet. But not all is well. The 49ers are having a rough season, sparking questions about coach Jim Harbaugh's future.
