BART will be outfitting a new fleet of cars, set to go into operation in 2017, with new seats. Yesterday it opened a seat-testing lab to the public. Reporter Caitlin Esch paid a visit to the Hayward facility and took the following video.

You may recall that the Bay Citizen last month commissioned bacterial testing of BART seats, which were found to be somewhat less sanitary than, say, the Intel cleanroom. Or the men's room at the Caltrain station, for that matter.
