The Trump administration admonished California over the alleged impact homelessness has on the state’s water quality, with EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler pointing to environmental risks that “may result from the homelessness crisis.”

Gov. Gavin Newsom called it “political retribution” against the state, and decried President Trump “persistently weaponizing our government to attack political opponents.”

There is nothing quite like an administration that has sought to weaken or eliminate 85 environmental rules while blaming homeless people in San Francisco and Los Angeles for pollution.
