In addition to sending 5,200 troops to the U.S. border with Mexico, President Trump plans to use an executive order to end birthright citizenship.
The first line of the 14th Amendment of the Constitution states: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."
Trump believes he can avoid having an act of Congress change the Constitution and instead issue an executive order, a point on which many legal experts beg to differ.
