A Move to Ban State-Hosted Gun Shows

Ahead of another "Crossroads of the West Gun Show" at the Cow Palace in Daly City, two California lawmakers are moving to ban gun shows at the state-owned facility.

The Cow Palace is owned and operated by a branch of the California Department of Food and Agriculture that puts on fairs and expositions.

A Cow Palace Board of Directors meeting agenda item lists a three-year contract for Crossroads of the West Gun Show that shows a rental fee of around $5,000 per gun show with "$110,000.00 per year based on $10.00 per patron vehicle."

The website promoting the gun show scheduled for June 9 and 10 states that "kids 12 and under are free."
