Fireworks displays are synonymous with New Year's Eve celebrations, and Bay Area residents don't have far to go to see a show.
The fireworks show along San Francisco's Embarcadero starts Sunday evening as midnight approaches. The fireworks will be launched from the bay south of the Ferry Building, near Pier 14. SFMTA has a handy guide for how to get to the optimal viewing locations (hint: get there early).
If you do check out the show, you might need this guide to get you home.
Police have sent out reminders urging people not to fire guns into the air. Possession of illegal fireworks can also result in a citation and fine.
For people who want to avoid the crowds, Telegraph Hill and Treasure Island are also good spots in the city to nab a decent view.
