If tsunamis typically travel at 300 miles per hour, why are humans able to outrun them? Why does the law require wine sold in the U.S. to be radioactive? Those are some of the questions answered by UC Berkeley physics professor Richard Muller in his new book, “The Instant Physicist: An Illustrated Guide.”

Muller is also the author of “Physics for Future Presidents,” and a winner of the MacArthur “genius” Fellowship.
