Engaging the Latino Vote in California

Latinos comprise 34 percent of California’s adult population but just 18 percent of its likely voters, according to the Public Policy Institute of California. Experts say that language barriers, limited outreach by campaigns and misconceptions about eligibility contribute to a persistently low Latino voter turnout in the state. We’ll discuss the social and political impacts of low voting rates among Latinos and hear what’s being done to increase engagement.
