The colorful public art of San Francisco’s Mission District reflects the vibrance, diversity and political activism of the neighborhood. We talk to the editor of a new book of photos and essays which traces the history of the Mission’s street art movement — and we check in with some of the artists featured in the book.

Guests:

Annice Jacoby, editor of "Street Art San Francisco: Mission Muralismo"

Sirron Norris, cartoonist, muralist, teacher and contributor to "Street Art San Francisco"

Juana Alicia, muralist, printmaker, educator, activist and painter behind a number of murals in San Francisco, including one on women, water and globalization entitled "La Llorona's Sacred Waters" at York and 24th St. in the Mission District

Aaron Noble, Los Angeles-based painter and one of the founders of the Clarion Alley Mural Project

Ricardo 'Apex' Richey, muralist featured in "Street Art San Francisco: Mission Muralismo"
