In March, local folk-rock hero Sean Hayes released Run Wolves Run, his sixth solo album. While some artists might be in coasting mode by album number six, Sean is still finding new ways to develop his sound. Run Wolves Run features more prominent electric guitar work than prior releases, the result of Hayes finally finding an amp that he liked enough to add to his sound. That might be a simple reason to get more electric, but it’s consistent with Hayes’s aesthetic of making the most of what he has. And what he has, at this point, is a talented circle of friends and an ear for funky, consistently winning tunes.

The Bay Bridged sat down with Sean Hayes a few weeks ago to discuss his new album and his many years in the San Francisco scene. We’ve also included four songs from Run Wolves Run in the show.
