In the short story “Imeldific,” a cohort of the dethroned first lady, Imelda Marcos, goes nuts in the aftermath of her heroine’s downfall. Her daughter reflects with grim irony on the perils of life for women with bouffant hairdos in a newly emerging democracy.

This book was part of the Juncture project, a large-scale arts collaboration, featuring stories, drawings and songs.
